KEY DATES

PPT Presentation Due: Monday 13 October 2025

Presenters who choose not to send their PPT by this date are responsible for bringing your presentation on a USB to the meeting.

AUDIO VISUAL

Basic audio visual will be provided as follows:

Stage with steps
Data projector and screen (16:9 ratio)
Lectern and microphone
Wireless clicker for advancing PowerPoint slides
Plenary room: Foldback monitor on stage with direct connection into the AV system
Concurrent room: Laptop at lectern with direct connection into the AV system
There will be an audio-visual technician in the room to assist with loading your presentation and any last-minute technical checks.

Late PPT or last minute changes: On arrival to the meeting or in the catering break before your presentation, please present to the AV ops desk at the rear of the ballroom with your USB.

PLEASE NOTE: As a courtesy to all presenters, program times must be strictly adhered to.

STREAMING & RECORDING

The ANZSOM Annual Scientific Meeting is a virtual and in-person event. Presenters in the main plenary room will be video, and audio streamed for the online delegates. Both plenary and concurrent breakout session presenters will recorded and your PowerPoint presentation matched for educational purposes following the event.

It is implied you give consent to be photographed, recorded and your PowerPoint presentation made available for this purpose. If you do have any concerns with the streaming or recording of your presentation please contact Cherono ASAP

PRESENTATIONS

Please refer to the conference program here for the duration of your presentation.

Videos in your PPT slides can be embedded in your slide or inputted as external links.

Please bring a copy of your presentation on a USB as a back-up.

PLEASE NOTE: As a courtesy to all presenters, program times must be strictly adhered to. If time permits, each session will conclude with Q&A, facilitated by the session chair.

*If you are part of a panel, you are not required to provide a PPT presentation.

SUBMITTING YOUR PRESENTATION:

Please clearly label your presentation with your NAME and PRESENTATION TITLE.

Please submit your PPT Presentation via this DROPBOX LINK or to Cherono via email by Monday 13 October 2025. Presenters who choose not to send their PPT by this date are responsible for bringing your presentation on a USB to the conference.

PRESENTATION TIPS

Tips for creating your PowerPoint Presentation:

Preferably videos are to be embedded into your slide rather than inputted as external links
PowerPoint presentations are required in 16:9 (widescreen) format. Please feel free to contact Cherono should you require assistance with ensuring your presentation is in this format.

Body Text:

Use a font that is easy to read. Arial, Verdana or Calibri tend to be the easiest to read on screens
Font should be no smaller than 18pt
Align text left. Centered text is harder to read
Write in point form, not complete sentences
Include 4-5 bullet points per slide
Avoid wordiness and clutter: A headline, a few bullet points, maybe an image - anything more than that and you risk losing your audience

Headings:

Heading font should be bigger than your body text

Colour:

Put dark text on a white background. This is easiest to read. If you must use a dark background - for instance, if your company uses a standard template with a dark background - make sure your text is quote light (white, cream or light grey) and increase the font size

Images, Charts and Diagrams:

A chart, diagram or image can often convey much more to your audience than text
Don't use low resolution images as these can appear blurry on the screen

Slide Timing:

Use 1-2 slides per minute of your presentation
