Ferguson-glass oration

ANZSOM is delighted to continue our collaboration with AFOEM and is proud to be hosting this year’s Ferguson-Glass Oration at the Annual Scientific Meeting in Melbourne.

The Oration was established in 1996 to acknowledge two illustrious members of the Faculty: Professor David Ferguson from Australia and Professor William Glass from Aotearoa New Zealand. AFOEM is indebted to both Professors for their contributions to the Faculty’s development and for continuing to inspire those working in the profession of occupational medicine.

This year, renowned occupational physician and researcher, Professor Ewan Macdonald from Glasgow, will deliver the Oration, reflecting on the theme of the conference “Workplaces in Transition” and drawing on his experience and contribution to national and international policy and practice across several decades.

Professor Macdonald is Head of the Healthy Working Lives Group, which he established at the University of Glasgow in 1990. He is also actively engaged in clinical practice, providing occupational health and safety services through his company MacOH Ltd.
