Biosecurity Queensland, Department of Primary Industries

The Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries leads and coordinates Queensland’s biosecurity framework including the Biosecurity Act 2014, Queensland Biosecurity Strategy 2024–2029, Queensland Invasive Plants and Animals Strategy 2025–2030 and policy development. The department plays an important role in increasing agricultural productivity by working closely with local governments, natural resource management groups, industry, communities and other stakeholders to reduce the risk and impacts of invasive species and other biosecurity risks to Queensland.
