Simon Brooke-Taylor is an Australian regulatory affairs providing specialist consultancy services across the food sector in toxicology, risk assessment, and compliance with ANZ food standards. Simon has a PhD in Toxicology from the University of Surrey, and has experience in the food industry and within the ANZ food regulatory system.
Simon has had a long association with the Australian Allergen Bureau, since its foundation as one of the original developers of the Bureau’s VITAL® (Voluntary Incidental Trade Allergen Labelling) Program. He is a member of the VITAL Scientific Expert Panel (VSEP), which since 2011 has provided evidence based scientific advice the Bureau for VITAL®.
During 2020-22 Simon participated as member of the Ad Hoc FAO/WHO Expert Panel on Risk Assessment of Food Allergens, including chairing meeting 4, tasked with establishing exemptions from mandatory declaration for priority food allergens.
