call for abstracts



Dear Author/Presenter

This symposium will provide a forum for the sharing of ideas surrounding the symposium themes of ‘communicate, educate and collaborate’ providing delegates with opportunities to update their knowledge and understanding of a broad range of topics, network with colleagues and learn from exhibitors.

Clinicians, health care professionals, allergy researchers and members of the food industry are invited to submit abstracts for FAMS 2025.

Delegates will include food technologists and quality assurance managers, food service and kitchen supervisors, food safety enforcement and regulation workers, clinicians and practitioners working with food allergies.

The streams may include:

  • Advances in food allergy prevention and treatment, and implications for the food industry sector.
  • Sharing allergen management experiences, challenges, and benefits.
  • Application of the VITAL program /Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) to support communication (PAL) or business risk reduction.
  • Considerations in allergen management and communication
  • Changes to dietary consumption (introduction of Novel foods, consideration of emerging allergens and new processing technologies)
  • Advances and challenges in Food Allergen Analysis
  • Experiences and learning in the education of consumers and or health care professionals 



Presentation Formats 

Oral presentations:
Report on original research, innovative programs, theoretical and conceptual advances, address industry challenges and the application of best practice principles.

Poster Presentations:
Posters provide a static visual display of new techniques, programs, research or industry innovations. They are the ideal medium for the presentation of complex visual material and emerging practice content. Please be prepared to also give a 3 minute verbal presentation if requested. 



Abstract Submission Information 

1. General Conditions

  1. All abstracts submitted must be original work
  2. Submitting author to nominate their abstract category
  3. The author is responsible for the accuracy of the abstract
  4. All abstracts will be reviewed by members of the scientific committee.

2.  Submission of Your Abstract

Submissions will only be accepted using the button below.
The abstract submission deadline is 15 December 2024.
The poster submission deadline is 7 April 2025.


Abstract format

TITLE 

  • Title should be a maximum of 150 characters in length

AUTHOR/S 

  • Enter name/s of author/s on form
  • Check the box for those authors who are presenting
  • Each author needs to be listed separately 
  • Include professional titles (e.g. Dr, Prof) when entering the author/presenter names

TEXT 

  • The online form will not keep any formatting you have created from a Word document; simply enter your abstract into the content box provided
  • Abstracts should be a maximum of 300 words written in the English language 
  • Do not leave blank lines between paragraphs 
  • Use standard abbreviations only
  • Do not use abbreviations in the title



Author Notification 

You will be notified of acceptance of your submission by the end of February 2025 giving adequate time for travel arrangements to be made. All presenters of papers, posters and workshops, must pay for conference registration, and co-ordinate their own accommodation and travel arrangements.

Upon receiving notification of acceptance, authors are required to notify the symposium organisers of their intent to participate/present at the conference. Authors who fail to notify the conference organisers may have their presentations withdrawn from the program at the discretion of the committee.
