GETTING AROUND


Sydney Olympic Park is situated approximately 16 kilometers west of Sydney's city center, making it a prominent and accessible destination. Situated in the suburb of Olympic Park, this area is well-connected to the city through major roads, rail lines, and public transport. Public Transport

Sydney’s public transport system offers excellent connectivity around Sydney Olympic Park, making it easy to navigate the area. The park is near the T1 North Shore & Western Line, with Olympic Park Station providing direct access to key destinations. Additionally, several bus routes connect the park with surrounding suburbs and the city center, ensuring convenient options for local travel. For those looking to explore further, Sydney’s Light Rail system also provides connections to nearby areas and attractions. Regular ferry services operate along the Parramatta River, offering a scenic route to and from the park. 


Getting to the Airport

To travel between Sydney Airport and Sydney Olympic Park, you have the option take the Airport Link train from the International Terminal to Central Station, then transfer to the T1 North Shore & Western Line, which will bring you directly to Olympic Park Station in about 45 minutes. For the return trip, simply reverse the process: catch the T1 line from Olympic Park to Central Station, and then board the Airport Link train to head back to the airport. If you prefer a more direct route, taxis or rideshare services are available, taking around 30 to 45 minutes each way, depending on traffic. Shuttle buses offer another option, though they may take longer.

In and around Sydney Olympic Park, public transport options are cost-effective. A single adult ticket on the train or bus typically costs between $3 (AUD) to $5 (AUD), depending on the distance traveled and whether you’re using an Opal card (see below) or contactless payment method. 

Taxi fares from Sydney Olympic Park to central locations in Sydney usually range from $50 AUD to $70 AUD, with the exact amount varying based on traffic and time of day. Uber rides offer a similar price range, with costs generally falling between $45 (AUD) and $65 (AUD) for trips to the city center, though prices can fluctuate based on demand and time of day. 

For a more budget-friendly option, the Light Rail and ferry services provide additional choices for exploring the area, with fares generally falling in line with those of the train and bus systems.
