COMAINE VAN ZIJL

Comaine van Zijl is a Food Allergen Management Specialist at FACTS, a leading South African consultancy and laboratory. With over a decade of experience, she specialises in allergen risk assessment, labelling compliance, and practical food industry support. Comaine holds a BTech in Food Science (Cum Laude, Cape Peninsula University of Technology) and is a registered VITAL® trainer. She co-developed a 7-part allergen management and testing video series and has co-authored key publications on food allergens and labelling in Applied Food Science and the Elgar Concise Encyclopedia of Food Law. She is passionate about advancing practical, science-based allergen management.
