The ASAM Board made the decision to collaborate with AMSANZ to run a combined conference, and the opportunity to coincide with an interesting and fun airshow – Warbirds Over Wanaka – was deemed an attractive option for many members.

There will be a quiet reflection lead by the President of AMSANZ on Good Friday, prior to the commencement of sessions, and some Easter surprises over the weekend.

What will the weather be like?

Autumn is a lovely time to visit Queenstown. Days are still warm, but not too hot and the air is often clear, so we’ll have beautiful views. There may even be a small sprinkling of snow on the mountaintops. Average temperatures in Queenstown range between 5°C and 25°C (41℉ to 77℉) during March, which is quite a spread, so layers are essential.

As always, we recommend bringing layers to the conference itself as air conditioning can sometimes be cool.

Is attendance at the Warbirds Over Wanaka mandatory?

No, you are welcome to spend a free day in Queenstown. You are also welcome to purchase a ticket on the Wanaka transfers and spend a day in Wanaka, just make sure you don’t miss your return coach!
