Professor Alfred Lam

Professor Lam is the Foundation Chair Professor of Pathology at Griffith University and Senior Staff specialist at Pathology Queensland at Gold Coast University Hospital. His research focuses are on diagnostic and molecular pathology of cancers of the gastrointestinal tract. He has produced over 450 referred journal articles with a high citation index (Scopus H index=66).

Professor Lam has contributed to 3 editions of the World Health Organization on the classification of tumours since 2003. He is an expert editor of the Fifth edition of the World Health Organization book on the classification of Digestive tract tumour pathology.

His research contributions made him awarded the best senior researcher by Griffith University’s Vice Chancellor, winner of the Australian society of medical research Queensland Health and medical research award and Member of Order of Australia (AM).
