Dr michelle thomas

Michelle completed her specialist colorectal training in Adelaide and Melbourne and is a member of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australasia & New Zealand (CSSANZ). During this time, she also completed a PhD at the University of Adelaide. Since 2007, Michelle has been working as a staff specialist colorectal surgeon at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and served as Head of Unit from 2015 to 2021. In private, her rooms are Adelaide Private Surgeons and she works at St Andrews and Stirling hospitals. While managing all colorectal disorders, Michelle has a special interest in pelvic floor dysfunction and runs an ultrasound and manometry lab for this. She also focuses on minimally-invasive approaches for colorectal disorders including laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Michelle has an ongoing research commitment with the RAH colorectal research group and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Adelaide.
