Dr Jon Barnard is a Colorectal and General Surgeon at Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau. After colorectal fellowships in minimally invasive colorectal surgery and  exenteration surgery he returned to New Zealand to be a Consultant at Middlemore Hospital. His recent research interest has been in ileostomy closure in the setting of rectal cancer surgery.
