Judy Thatcher

Judith Thatcher (Judy) is a member of CANEGROWERS Mackay Area Committee (MAC), MAC Audit Committee and Mackay Canegrowers Network Group.

Mrs Thatcher is a 3^rd generation cane farmer with 20 years practical experience who owns and operates a farm at Pindi Pindi, 60km north of Mackay. Her business is accredited in the industry’s Smartcane BMP program and supplies around 6,000/7000 tonnes of cane annually to Farleigh Mill.

Judy was raised on the family farm and upon leaving school commenced employment with the Bank of New South Wales/Westpac for 14 years where she performed various duties associated with in the Finance Sector.

After her Finance Sector employment, Judy was employed within the Local Government Sector, namely Mackay City Council/Mackay Regional Council where she worked predominantly within the Finance Dept (Rates) and Mackay Water. After 10 years in the employment of Local Government, Judy resigned her position so as to care for her newborn child and family. She is married to John and has 2 children, Jack and Teah.
