John Sheehy




John Sheehy is the CEO of Sydney and NYC-based corporate advisory firm, Pottinger. He has over 20 years’ experience in professional services in Australia, UK, US and Russia.

​Pottinger is an independent advisor to leading companies, state and federal governments, industry associations and growth stage companies on M&A, capital raising, corporate strategy and public policy.

John’s work in the Australian agriculture and regional economy sectors includes advising: 

-          The National Farmers’ Federation on its financial risk management project for Australian farmers and on best practices in grower education

-          The Australian Sugar Industry on the development of Sugar Plus, the industry-wide strategy and roadmap

-          A potential acquiror of Mackay Sugar, during its recapitalisation process

-          National Rural Independents on the group’s growth strategy

-          Bonza, Australia’s newest low-cost regional-focused airline, on its commercialisation

-          Various project and technology proponents seeking to raise capital for climate-technology businesses

-          Various renewable energy project developers on raising capital for, and the buying and selling of, solar, battery and wind farms projects

Prior to joining Pottinger, John was a lawyer at Linklaters LLP, in London and New York.
