Weather

During the month of August Brisbane experiences cool and pleasant temperatures with average ranges from  12°C (52°F) in the early morning and late evening to about 22°C. You can expect a good amount of sunshine, with lower humidity levels making it comfortable weather. It is a good idea to pack both lighter layers for the daytime and warmer clothing for the cooler evenings and nights.

Getting Around

Moving around Brisbane is relatively convenient, especially the South Bank and CBD area and transportation from the Brisbane Airport. Here's some information to help you navigate:

Getting from Brisbane Airport to South Bank

There are several transportation options, including taxis, rideshare services and the Airtain. The Airtain offers a direct and speedy connection from the airport to the city center with South Bank a short walk from the South Brisbane Railway Station.

Moving around South Bank and the CBD

South Bank and the CBD are pedestrian-friendly precincts, making it easy to explore on foot, whether you're strolling along the riverfront, enjoying the local cafes and eateries, shops or cultural sites. Additionally, the CityCat ferry service provides a scenic way to move along the Brisbane River. Otherwise South Bank is well-connected by public transport, with South Brisbane Railway Station and Cultural Centre station nearby. The CBD and South Bank also feature extensive networks of public transport or the ability for rideshare pickup locations. 

Dining 

The 2024 AWC will be held in the vibrant South Bank, located on the banks of the Brisbane River and across from the CBD. Brisbane is a vibrant city with a diverse food and drink scene, and South Bank is a central hub for eateries and bars.
