Call for Abstracts

The 16th Australasian Cystic Fibrosis Conference will be held on the 7 - 9 August 2026 at the Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre.

The 2026 Australasian Cystic Fibrosis Conference invites abstract submissions from delegates and offers authors the opportunity to share their vision and experience on topics that align with the conference theme.

The theme of the Australasian Cystic Fibrosis Conference 2026 is “Navigating the Future of Cystic Fibrosis.”

The rate of change in CF is unprecedented and so this year's theme is "Navigating the Future of Cystic Fibrosis," which speaks to the bold new directions, groundbreaking research, and unshakable hope driving the CF community forward. As we look to the future, we do so with a shared commitment to progress, innovation, collaboration and improved outcomes for every person affected by CF. We eagerly anticipate your participation. Your presence will contribute to the success of this significant event. We look forward to welcoming you to the Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre in August 2026.

ABSTRACT FORMATTING INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

Title:

  • Type in UPPER CASE
  • Do not identify yourself or institution in the title
  • Limit to 15 words

Body of Abstract: 

  • all abstracts to be written in English
  • use Sentence case
  • maximum word count must not exceed 300 words
  • must not contain tables, pictures or diagrams
  • abbreviations should conform with uniform requirements of manuscripts submitted to scientific journals. References are not required but may be included
  • body to consist of 4 paragraphs: Background, Methods, Results and Conclusions 
  • abstracts should not contain proprietary or confidential information
  • standard abbreviations are acceptable. Any special abbreviations should be given in parenthesis after the first appearance of the full word or phase for which it stands
  • place acknowledgements at the end of the abstract, e.g., supported by…

Drug Names

If the brand-name drug has a generic version, the generic names(s) should be used for all drugs that qualify-provide definition once, e.g., “lumacaftor/ivacaftor (Orkambi)”; use generic thereafter. If using brand-name drugs, they need to be company agnostic, not promotional, and consistent throughout your abstract(s) and presenting materials (poster/oral presentation/PowerPoint slides, etc.).

All expenses associated with the submission and presentation of the abstract are the presenter’s responsibility.

Submission constitutes a commitment from the author(s) to present their poster if the abstract is accepted.
