Dr Michelle Jackman is a researcher and occupational therapist who is passionate about children and families having access to the most up-to-date and effective treatment options. Michelle combines her clinical role in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at John Hunter Children’s Hospital, with her Senior Research Fellow role at the Cerebral Palsy Research Institute, University of Sydney.
Michelle is focussed on translating research into practice, through collaboration with families, clinicians and policy makers. She was the lead author on international CP guidelines focussed on improving function, which have been one of the most highly accessed and cited papers in the journal of Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology for the past 3 years running. Michelle leads an international community of practice regarding the translation of best practice evidence for people with cerebral palsy. She is excited to share with you the current strategies being developed alongside partners with lived experience.
