Jess completed a Master of Occupational Therapy Studies at the University of Queensland in 2018 and has since worked in community paediatric practice. Her work has focused primarily on supporting children with spinal disabilities and their families to be involved at home, school, and in the community. She has also contributed to community development initiatives, including development and delivery of local and international training programs for inclusive water safety education.
Jess is passionate about the role of occupational therapy in creating inclusive environments. You’ll find her teaching subjects focused on the occupational therapy process, chronic health conditions, and inclusive communities. She is currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Queensland, using participatory research methods to build foundational knowledge on effective practices and interventions for children with spinal disabilities.
