Senior Occupational Therapist with an early career background in Rehabilitation, stroke/neurological, general medicine and home visiting /post-acute care services. A change of pace and career shift happened for me in 2017 when Sunshine Coast University Hospital opened its doors and a 7-day Allied Health model of care service commenced in our hub and spoke Emergency Departments. Working in the Emergency Department continues to be a privilege, as we get to work alongside a passionate MDT who focusses on implementing timely patient centred and evidence-based practice for patients across the lifespan. I have an interest in teaching and supporting students and Junior Therapist’s and have held the student representative for Surgical services. As the current Chairperson for the Emergency Department Occupational Therapy State Collaborative, helping to define and create Occupational Therapy resources (to be ratified across the State) and networking with other sites for both paediatric and adult Occupational Therapy pathways (concussion being the current focus!) has been fantastic experience.
