Clinical Nurse Consultant, Queensland Paediatric Rehabilitation Service

Jennifer is a Clinical Nurse Consultant at the Queensland Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (QPRS) with 24 years of experience as a paediatric nurse, including 19 years within QPRS leading and managing multidisciplinary teams and programs. In 2007 she received a Churchill Fellowship to investigate paediatric rehabilitation services and models of care in America and Canada which was pivotal in the creation of the Queensland Children’s Hospital Rehab Nursing Service and Ward which opened in 2014 and continues to evolve. Here, she developed the original concussion telehealth nursing follow-up program within QPRS. She liaises with rehabilitation services throughout Australia to advise on establishment of concussion services, nursing assessment and follow-up that she routinely performs. Jennifer is actively engaged in facilitating research and has 4 publications over her career, and a member of the Australasian Rehabilitation Nursing Association. She is particularly interested in knowledge translation and has created videos for patients and families about concussion recovery (available at kidsconcussion.com.au).
