Jodie, Karen, Tara, Melina and Ann all work collaboratively at Perth Children's Hospital (PCH) in the Kids Rehab department as members of the Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) team. This team works in the acute setting to provide interprofessional treatment for infants, children and young people with ABIs.Jodie is an Occupational Therapist with over 31 years experience. She has worked at PCH for 18 years in a variety of caseloads and specifically in the ABI Team, Neurology and Neurosurgery team. Prior to PCH she worked in number of organisations in metropolitan and regional Western Australia. She is passionate about supporting people with disabilities and their families participate in their community.Karen is a Music Therapist with over 30 years experience and has worked in health, education and community sectors in Australia, New Zealand and England. For the last 11 years Karen has worked as part of the PCH ABI Team. She is interested in the role music therapy plays as part of interprofessional approaches, and it's impact on functional outcomes for children and adolescents with an ABI.Tara is a Speech Pathologist with an interest in acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions. She is also a mum to twins with dystonic cerebral palsy and is committed to supporting families to facilitate the best outcomes for their children. She has worked as a Speech Pathologist for 12 years and enjoys working as part of a team.Melina is a Physiotherapist working within the Neurology, Neurosurgery and ABI Teams at PCH. She has 20 years of experience working in paediatric hospitals, community settings and rehabilitation centres in Scotland, Norway and Australia. She is passionate about child and family centred care and working in a multidisciplinary team setting.Ann is a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) working at PCH for the past 22 years and has spent many years working in the community as a school nurse and then as a Child Health Nurse. Her CNS role in rehabilitation involves liaison and communication with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for children and their families with an ABI.
