Erin is a Registered Nurse who has previously worked in Trauma Nursing and the acute sector before specialising in First Nations Health, Women’s Health and Preventive Health Care. Since 2017 Erin has worked in the Health Support Program (HSP) at Sisters Inside in Brisbane. The HSP provides support to women with complex health needs post release from prison and to advocate for the rights of women to access health care while in prison. Sisters Inside is an independent community organisation based in Queensland which advocates for the collective human rights of women and girls who are impacted by the criminal justice system nationally and globally. Erin has 35 years experience in advocacy and activism for marginalised women; particularly women who are in prison or have been in prison and in campaigning to end violence against women. She has held positions on the board of Women’s Health Central Queensland and Women’s Health Grampians (Victoria). Erin has a passion for working with marginalised women and girls and for preventative and public health.
