Dr Hamish urquhart


Dr Hamish Urquhart is a Colorectal Surgeon with a special interest in treatment of anal cancer and high grade lesions of the anal canal. Dr Urquhart is based at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney, with his clinic based in Paddington Sydney. Dr Urquhart is currently leading an Australian first study  delivering Radiofrequency Ablation for treatment of high grade anal lesions.

Dr Urquhart completed his General fellowship in 2015 before embarking on 4 colorectal fellowship years, including his CSSANZ fellowships completed in 2020. Prior to this, Dr Urquhart completed his degree in Mechanical Engineer and worked as an Engineer developing several patents on biomedical technologies which are currently in use worldwide in the field of passive noise cancellation technology and ventilator design.

Dr Urquhart is the deputy chair of the NSW training board in General surgery, while also being the Site Director of surgical training at St Vincent's hospital Sydney. Dr Urquhart is also the recipient of the Australian Excellence in Engineering award for developing new biomedical technologies.
