Pete Greenwell

Pete is the Procurement Category Lead for Sugar at Coca Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP). Pete is responsible for the supply of refined sugar to all of Coca Cola’s manufacturing facilities in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, PNG and Fiji.12 years ago Pete was responsible for the procurement of sugar for Arnott’s Biscuits. Since that time, he has seen a significant shift in FMCG companies’ focus towards sustainability. Sustainability is an area that Pete is passionate about. Whilst at Arnott’s Biscuits, Pete was formally recognised for his implementation of Arnott’s programs to source sustainably certified Palm Oil and Cocoa.

Most recently, Pete has been working with the Sustainability teams at The Coca Cola Company and CCEP along with Canegrowers and KPMG to investigate the potential to use blockchain technology to track Smartcane BMP/Bonsucro certified sugar from farm to CCEP. The world of sustainability is quickly evolving. Pete is looking forward to discussing how sugarcane businesses and growers in the Australian industry can act as global innovators and leaders to meet the changing expectations on market needs, sustainability and diversification.
