Dr Barry Salter has a PhD in Tropical Agriculture from James Cook University, conducted post-doctoral research on Macadamia at CSIRO and has worked as a research agronomist in sugarcane for the past 19 years. He is currently Manager of Translation Research at Sugar Research Australia (SRA) and has previously held positions as Cropping Systems Manager and Executive Manager Biosecurity and Production. His past and current research has focused on sugarcane farming systems including fallow cropping, minimum tillage, row configurations, nutrient use efficiency, enhanced efficiency fertilisers, and interactions with varieties.
