Shane Neilson is the Principal Advisor Drugs and Firearms at the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC). Shane has degrees in economics and law from the University of Queensland and has more than 30 years intelligence and operational experience in Commonwealth and state agencies in both a national security and law enforcement context. Much of this work has involved intelligence and investigative activity targeting organised crime and drug markets. Shane has also developed ACIC strategies in relation to illicit drugs. Part of this work involves co-management of the ACIC’s National Wastewater Drug Monitoring Program.
