Ms Erin Ellis is a senior Team Member in the AFP’s Forensic Drug Intelligence team having commenced in February 2018. Prior to commencing with AFP, Ms Ellis has an extensive career as a Forensic Drug Chemist with NSW Forensic and Analytical Science Service (FASS) and NSW Police Force (NSWPF) Forensic Services Group Clandestine Laboratory Unit conducting analysis of prohibited drugs, assessing hazardous scenes and providing scientific expertise and advice relating to the clandestine manufacture of prohibited drugs.
Erin is a graduate of the University of Technology Sydney having completed her honours degree in 2005 before moving into an analytical chemist role with Caltex refinery. She has predominantly worked in the clandestine drug manufacture field attending scenes and undertaking analysis. Erin also completed a secondment with the Northern Territory Police where she examined large amounts of cannabis and kava. More recently, Erin has been an intelligence analyst with a NSWPF intelligence team and has become an integral member of FDI where she contributes to the AIDIP and ENIPID projects and delivery of Forensic Drug Intelligence services to the AFP and its partners.
