Updates in Lichen Planus

Presentation Description

This session will provide an up-to-date review of recent literature on lichen planus, with a focus on advances in diagnosis, management, and emerging therapeutic approaches. I will highlight key publications, discuss implications for clinical practice, and explore novel insights into pathogenesis. The aim is to equip clinicians with practical knowledge to enhance patient care, address challenging presentations, and remain current with evolving evidence in this complex mucocutaneous disorder.

Biography

Dr Kate DeAmbrosis completed an undergraduate medical degree at the University of Newcastle in 2003, graduating with Honours. She completed basic surgical training at Princess Alexandra Hospital before embarking on specialist training through the Australasian College of Dermatology. Her training in Dermatology was completed at Princess Alexandra Hospital Brisbane, Mater Adults and Children’s Hospitals South Brisbane, Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney, and Royal Brisbane and Womens’ Hospitals.

Dr DeAmbrosis holds a University of Queensland Master’s degree in Public Health and has published in both Australian and international journals in the areas of non-melanoma skin cancer, vulval dermatology and dermoscopic research.

Dr DeAmbrosis received the Ken Paver Medal for Clinical Sciences during her dermatology training, and the Merck Sharpe and Dohme award for research.
