Lung Foundation

Lung Foundation Australia is the only charity and leading peak body of its kind in Australia that funds life-changing research and delivers support services that give hope to people living with lung disease or lung cancer.

Since 1990, we have been working to ensure lung health is a priority for all, promoting lung health and early diagnosis, advocating for policy change and research investment, and championing equitable access to treatment and care.

Lung Foundation Australia has played an integral role in the prevention and support of occupational lung diseases across Australia. We were represented in the National Dust Disease Taskforce and developed and delivered the National Silicosis Prevention Strategy 2023 – 2028. We also lead several initiatives including setting the national OLD research agenda through annual OLD research forums, a national telephone-based support service, prevention and awareness campaigns, education for healthcare professionals, and development of the occupational respiratory risk rapid response protocol.
