Details
This panel brings together Indigenous and allied researchers to explore the ethical, methodological, and structural shifts needed to prioritise First Nations research in Australia. As national funding bodies increasingly recognise the importance of Indigenous knowledge systems, this conversation urges researchers to reflect, adapt, and algin. Panellists will share insights from diverse fields – including epidemiology, community engagement and Indigenous knowledge leadership, to spotlight how research can meaningfully support Indigenous sovereignty, self-determination, and intellectual leadership. We invite critical reflection on the responsibilities of all researchers and the structural changes required to embed Indigenous priorities in the future of research practice.
